Holy Russia

By Christine Lynn

July 28 marks the Baptism of Rus — the most significant event in Russia’s history. It was 1037 years ago that the True Church of Christ Jesus was embraced by Russia. Ever since, among all the nations where the Church was established, Russia has remained the keeper and protector of the faith — pure, true, and untainted by heresy.

From Prince (Saint) Vladimir’s christening of the people in the year 988 — through the elimination of pagan idols, the building of churches, and provision for the poor — the spiritual birth of the Russian nation began. A true transformation of the people spread far and wide… continuing today through the righteous leadership of President Vladimir Putin.

As a historian, my expertise lies in Soviet-Russian history. However, in addition to my extensive intellectual knowledge and research, my interest in this wonderful country goes far beyond the years of acquiring knowledge.

My love for Russia is profound. Her history, people, literature, music, architecture, art — the struggles and triumphs — all that Russia is, I embrace, and my soul finds home… my spiritual homeland.

It is the home of my faith and Church, Russian Orthodoxy, and home to the people I consider my true family. No other country in the world is as important to me.

All Christians should remember that the Russians are keepers of the faith — the Church given to us by Christ Jesus. Others split from the original Church and its faith, with each separation taking them farther from the truth Jesus gave us. As a nation-state — at the level of national governance — there is no other consistent keeper of the Eastern Orthodox faith. I deeply appreciate that Russia’s president, as well as others at senior levels, are Russian Orthodox.

In the Russian people, we see the prophecy:

“After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
—Jeremiah 31:33 (KJV)

A few other nations are strongly Orthodox, with millions of believers, but no other state — at its highest levels — so openly and consistently embraces Orthodoxy like Russia.

It is the Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) which unceasingly delivers the message of Christ — untainted by Western humanistic liberal Satanic poison that has infected so many others. Sadly, even among other predominantly Orthodox countries and Orthodox churches in the West, many have allowed a hatred for Russia — Russophobia — to enter into and pollute their faith.

The Orthodox faith informs all of Russian society — directly and indirectly, including its governance — blessing all, believer or not. It is evidenced throughout society: a nation whose government truly shows love for its people — a nation whose society is far more beautiful than that of the country I was born and grew up in, the United States, which is degrading by every measure as a result of its grotesque values and evil aggression worldwide. Its decline is the result of the majority of its people rejecting God.

As Orthodox Christians, our life, our identity, is in Christ… and as a nation, so it is with Russia. Moral foundations build Russian society — greed and materialism build American society.

As the West continues its evil multi-decade-long agenda against Russia, I think of these Scriptures.

Note: Spiritually aware and knowledgeable Christians understand that, since Christ Jesus came to mankind, the name “Israel” no longer refers to a geographical location as it did in the Old Testament or to the people who rejected Christ; rather, “Israel” refers to Christian believers — the saints you and I are called to become — the true Church, who shall be the inhabitants of Heaven. With that in mind, I share these Scriptures — applicable to the country with the highest number of Orthodox Christians in the world: Russia.

“And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
—Genesis 12:3 (KJV)

“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
—Matthew 5:10 (KJV)

These are clear warnings to the United States, the UK, and Europe as they persecute the righteous Orthodox country of Russia — and a warning to those Orthodox Christians who have fallen into the Satanic snare of choosing to side with the collective West’s lying propaganda about Russia rather than seeking the truth through independent research.

My love for Russia has found me learning its beautiful language for over three years, enjoying Russian music (classical, WWII, and modern) daily, appreciating its many gifted writers (originally in English, now venturing into the original Russian), studying its architecture, and its diverse cultures, regions, and traditions. The character of Russia I treasure.

I feel a kinship, a deep rapport, with the Russian people, as well as deep respect and appreciation. Far greater than a mere intellectual pursuit, I have been drawn to Russian and Soviet history, culture, and tradition in all their aspects. I’ve spent much time reading letters from Soviet soldiers in WWII to their families — the stories of the heroes, each one, soldier and civilian, who sacrificed during those horrid years of defending the Motherland — learning of the experiences of the people throughout the Soviet period. The suffering, the resilience, courage, determination, and achievements in all areas of their life are vital to me to learn; I crave it. A mystery. I am inspired by a profound need to know more — and as I learn more, my desire to know even more increases exponentially.

For over two decades, I’ve had unexplainable, mysterious, spiritual personal experiences regarding Russia and her history — which were perplexing at the time — but which make perfect sense (though still unexplainable in rational terms) to me now.

All of this has led me to the deepest appreciation for the Russian Federation of today… and appreciation for all who came before and all who stand strong today in her defense.

These words I write here cannot adequately express the depth of this connection.
Contemplating this, I cannot describe in words what the Russian people whom I love, respect, and admire… the land… and her history… signify to me.

Thus, I devote myself to sharing the truth of modern-day Russia as well as her amazing history with as many as possible in the United States. As a historian and as an Orthodox Christian, I am also driven to expose the evil dark myths and lies of the collective West about Russia. Indeed, most of those in the United States have been indoctrinated with lying propaganda — and sadly, my experience has shown me most prefer to live in their dark lies rather than even consider any facts to the contrary. However, I know among Americans there are some — a minority — who do seek truth and understanding. It is deeply fulfilling — spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually — to use my abilities to share the truth about today’s beautiful and noble Russian Federation, as well as its recent Soviet past.

Holy Russia is leading the world through its consistent adherence to mutual respect and cooperation among nations — it is a beacon of light, a symbol of hope, in a dark world. It is the country I love above all others.
